Tune in for all of the best tips on Pinterest for photographers, blogging for photographers, and more!
As a Pinterest Manager for photographers, I use several tools every day to help with pin creation, pin scheduling, and a ton of other things that make it smoother for myself and the client! Whether you’re another Pinterest manager looking to check out what tools I use or just someone who wants to see a little behind the scenes, let’s get into my top tools!
Tailwind is what I use and require for every single Pinterest client of mine. I love Tailwind because it allows you to batch schedule your content with ease better than any other pin scheduling app out there, even Pinterest’s own scheduling itself (in my opinion).
You may hear from some Pinterest Managers that using Tailwind could hurt your analytics. This is not true. Tailwind is actually endorsed by Pinterest as one of their “third-party analytics or advertising providers” which you can see here. You can also see more of Pinterest’s trusted business partners here.
“Over 700,000 businesses trust Tailwind to help them effortlessly streamline their Pinterest marketing. Create, plan and schedule your Pins at the best times and measure results—all with one simple tool.” – pinterest.com
Another tool that I use every single day is Canva Pro! Maybe you’re wondering why I use Canva Pro if I mainly work with wedding photographers, whose content is their photos themselves? I use Canva Pro to also create collages for my clients and custom pin templates as well! I also use Canva to create the weekly video pins that I create for my clients so I can turn images into MP4s to diversify the content that’s going out on their Pinterest.
If you’re blogging as a wedding photographer (you definitely should be) then using pin templates can help prompt users to click over to your website to see or learn more! These are the Pinterest templates I currently use for my clients, which I bought off of Etsy.
If you’re looking to repurpose some of your Instagram reels over to Pinterest, then I recommend using a IG video downloader like FastDL. There are others you can use as well, but this is the one I’ve always used and don’t have issues with. This will allow you to download the video as a file that you can then upload to Canva.
Pro Tip: I recommend uploading to Canva because you will want to remove the sound so that Pinterest doesn’t flag your video for copyright infringement! So just mute the sound on Canva, then download! Then you can upload onto Pinterest. If you upload on your mobile, you can skip uploading to Canva. If you are uploading from your desktop, it won’t allow you to remove the sound.
Ok, does this actually count as a tool I use? Probably not, but we’re gonna go with it. I use Pinterest itself to do all of my keyword research for pin titles and descriptions! That way all pins created are optimized to land in front of my clients ideal audience. I do keyword research through the regular search bar, the trends tool, and through AD management. I’ll be diving more into how to do keyword research in another blog, so stay tuned!
I hope that this little blog on what I use as a Pinterest manager for photographers gives you a little behind the scenes look on how I create and schedule content for clients! Have questions?
